\u00a0Why There May Be Goose Feathers\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

This title comes about from two sources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

First, there\u2019s my habit of thinking on things while walking Jack the Dog.\u00a0 I pick up thoughts, ideas, and sometimes items I find along the way.\u00a0 Some of it is interesting \u2026 leaves, nuts or other seeds, rocks, pieces of bark, and \u2013 yes, even feathers.\u00a0 Some of it is not all that interesting \u2026trash and, well, I\u2019m walking a dog so you can figure out what I pick up a lot of.\u00a0 Like things collected along a walk, there may be interesting bits here and there \u2026 and there may well be some trash and, uh, you know.<\/p>\n

But, secondly, and perhaps even more to the title of this blog, I have a great affinity for the old Celtic association of the Wild Goose and the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Sometimes my life feels a lot like a wild goose chase!\u00a0 What\u2019s going on here?\u00a0 What am I doing here?\u00a0 What should I be doing in this?\u00a0 Where do I go from here?\u00a0 As I pick up stray ideas and things along the way and think things over, I am (in a sense) looking for signs of the Wild Goose.<\/p>\n

After all, you can\u2019t call a wild goose to come.\u00a0 You can\u2019t predict where or when it will show up.\u00a0 All you can do is listen for its call and try to follow the path of its flight.\u00a0 You might catch it at rest here or there, swimming in the water \u2026 resting on a shore or bank.\u00a0 But a glimpse is all you get before it flies off again.\u00a0 But, perhaps with careful watching, you might catch signs of its passage \u2026 something that suggests the Wild Goose has been here.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m looking at things, mulling over events of my life in this world, pondering some common questions, and looking for some trace of guidance \u2026 some sense of place or purpose in all of this.\u00a0 Sometimes these postings may be nothing more than my take on the moment.\u00a0 Sometimes there might be real ponderings of calling and purpose and where is God in all of this.\u00a0 Some of it might be insightful; some of it might be more of the other sorts of things I pick up.\u00a0 But sometimes, perhaps, here and there, every now and then, there might be a goose feather or two.<\/p>\n

You just never know, there may<\/span> be goose feathers \u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
